چکیده

Maize (Zea maize L.) is one of the major cereal crop produced worldwide after wheat and rice mainly as food for human animal feed .maize most sensitive to weed competition during its early growth stage control an important management practice production that should be carried out ensure optimum grain yield. Weeds compete with corn plants resources such light, nutrients, space, moisture, water, especially good within first 4 6 weeks crops are planted critical in order avoid a yield reduction from weeds. The period (CPWC) cried cycle which weeds must controlled prevent losses .the maximum occurs 40 45 week sowing suggesting importance maintaining field weed. Free this competition. Weed .Weed season reduce yields more than late Although not greatly reduced by weeds, they may case difficult harvesting, low quality protein content. So, paper Review on Critical Period Competition Management Mays, L) it can minimum using method.

Maize (Zea mays L.).

Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...

critical period of weed control in corn (zea mays l.)

abstract the critical period of weed control (cpwc) is a period in the crop growth cycle during which weeds must be controlled to prevent yield losses. in order to determine the critical period of weed control (cpwc) of corn in hamedan, an experiment was conducted in 2007 at agricultural research station of bu-ali sina university of hamedan. the experiment was carried out as a randomized comple...

Glyphosate-resistant Volunteer Maize (zea Mays L.): Impact and Management

The United States is the largest producer of maize in the world. Maize-soybean is the most prominent crop rotation in the Midwestern United States. Glyphosate-resistant volunteer maize is a problem weed not only in soybean, but also in continuous maize or sugarbeet rotations. Storm damage, harvesting problems, poor stalk quality, and insect damage, among other factors, can lead to kernel and ea...

Growth and Yield of Maize (zea Mays L.) as Affected by Row Spacing and Weed Competition Durations

A field experiment was conducted for two consecutive years (2003 and 2004) to study the effect of row spacing (75, 65 and 55cm) and different weed competition durations (0, 15,30,45,60 days after emergence and throughout the growth period) on weeds density and biomass and growth and yield of maize. Reducing row spacing significantly suppressed the weed density and biomass. The maximum reduction...

Phytoremediation Potential of Maize (Zea mays L.). A Review

In most developing parts of the world, the rapid expansion of industrial areas leading to uncontrolled processing and utilization of industrial products, agricultural inputs, vehicular emissions and improper disposal of liquid and solid wastes may cause soil to become contaminated with chemical hazards such as heavy metals. Heavy metal contamination of soil may pose risks to humans and the ecos...
